It’s very evident that no expense was spared in designing, building and creating such a special boat that it will remain timeless.Īll of the equipment and materials on Undaunted are the best to do the job they were intended for regardless of cost.įeaturing twin Series 60 Diesels (twin 825hp) with Krill system monitoring, an all new-Simrad glass bridge (4 screens at pilothouse helm and 2 at flybridge), ABT Trac Stabilizers, twin Northern Lights generators, Sat TV and shipboard camera system all augment the recently updated galley appliances and the new upholstery, blinds, and German carpets. The combination of all of these features make her unlike and superior to most any other boat in her size and speed category and the feeling of cruising on Undaunted is something that must be experienced to be understood. Widely respected to be the best Certified Marine electrical designer. The electrical system was designed and implemented by John Munroe of Ocean Currents Inc. No covers to put on, or synch straps necessary. Activate the winch to pull it inside and push the button to close the door. When you return, you open the door as you pull up and pull the tender partway into the garage, hook up the winch cable to the tender and step out onto the swim platform. After you back the tender away from the stern of Undaunted, you simply push the remote door opener and closer in the tender and the door closes as you drive off. With a touch of a button the garage door opens, taking a part of the swim platform with it and the tender gently slides out into the water. There is a tender garage that makes launching and retrieving the 15’ tender almost effortless. The intricate interior detailing throughout the entire boat is truly something to behold. The sliding doors on each side of the pilot house are power actuated and fit so precisely that when they are closed, it’s very hard to tell they are even there. The interior and exterior stainless steel stairways to the fly bridge are each a piece of art and worthy of being on display. ![]() All of the welds in the stainless steel throughout the boat have been polished out so that no welds are visible making it look as if the parts are one piece. No screw heads are visible wherever possible as that is where corrosion will start. Her massive stringer and structural grid system integrated into the hull makes her as strong as she is beautiful.Īmong other features found on Undaunted the 316 L stainless steel work is exquisite and the details are seldom found on other yachts such as the blind fasteners for securing the rail system and exterior hinges for hatches, etc. Her ABT TRAC stabilizers keep her very comfortable in heavy seas, including beam seas. Her well balanced keel helps to keep her straight on course and makes her a joy to handle in close quarters. She also benefits from well designed propellor tunnels designed by the late Ed Hageman, considered the master of propulsion designs, that not only reduce her draft, but enhance her speed and efficiency by reducing the shaft angles and propellor caused vibrations. ![]() Regarding her naval architecture, note the fine entry bow that comfortably and effortlessly slices through the water rather than colliding with head seas creating a pounding effect and lots of spray while pushing water forward instead of smoothly flowing aft around the boat as it should. Her beautiful stainless steel framed curved glass salon doors don’t get any salt spray on them even after a long day of cruising. The outward canted coamings around the aft deck while enhancing her style also function to deflect and reduce the low air pressure area in the aft deck area that causes spray and exhaust gasses from coming into that area while underway. The lines are perfectly balanced to provide her with beautiful proportions. The styling, by Brian Holland, is classical and functional and will never go out of style as with some yachts that have been produced in the last few years with exaggerated features that don’t serve any purpose and aren’t exactly pleasing. Enough can’t be said for the styling, layout, quality and naval architecture of this beautiful Holland 70’ motor yacht.
